Hi. I’m super new to this world, but trying to learn quickly! I was just spinning through my recent CT Angio and there are places where I have a loop or two in my veins. A recent report mentioned a vascular loop elsewhere. I’m wondering if I have funky loops that cause some of my issues? Is it common to see loops in these images?
We’re not doctors on here, so can’t give you specific medical advice, but it’s not common to see the vascular loops- we have had some members who do, but definitely not the norm! I think the position of them is significant too, as they’re around the C1 & styloid area, which is an already compressed enough space! Certainly something to ask Dr Hepworth about when you see him!
When I mentioned you have tortuous carotids, that’s the term for the looping & winding around they do. We’ve had another member recently who has a very similar situation. She saw both Dr Hepworth & Dr. Nakaji for opinions & both wanted to do surgery for her. She recently had surgery with Dr. Nakaji, but I believe either surgeon would do a fine surgery to help you. Dr. Nakaji has a shorter wait time for patients to be seen, but as @Jules said, he tends to shrink away from patients w/ complicated health challenges where Dr. Hepworth embraces them.
