@Kiki67 - I’m glad you’ve noticed some significant improvements since your bilateral surgery in Jan. I sympathize with wanting to get back into activities you love, but paying for it later. Your nerves will continue to heal for another 6-12 months so I expect you’ll gradually begin to have less pain as the months pass. It was really a full 12 months after each of my surgeries before the nerve pain symptoms each styloid was causing more fully disappeared.
There is lots that now do.
I’m glad you feel that the surgery was worth it, and hope that you continue to improve so you can get back to sports

Thank you for sharing your story! I think I have scar tissue from the right side that was intraoral as well. Really wish my original doc hadn’t done intraoral at all. My IJVs really aren’t compressed as far as the CT showed and I had an angiogram done a few years back. The left would compress if I looked down and to the left. But I do understand the bit about collaterals and those causing pain.
Were your pain flares in the form of shaky hands and shaking in the serratus anterior?
The pain for me is so weird and diffuse, like a fibromyalgic pain.
@alibabac I haven’t had any hand symptoms. My serratus didn’t feel shaky. It felt like I had fractured my ribs and the sport I was doing can cause rib injuries so it took a while to figure out. I’m still having pain in the posterior serratus and if I try to be active the anterior pain comes back to the point it hurts to take a breath. I’ve been symptomatic since 2009 and I’m older (59)so my adaptive body mechanics and all the bizarre pains seem to be hanging on longer than I’d hoped. I wish I hadn’t had the intraoral surgeries too but I’m glad I found my way to Dr. Hackman.
