If I’m understanding your question correctly, my NIR who did the catheter venogram Said it was my left side. Nakaji agreed. This is my non-dominant, hypoplastic side. We’re doing this side because it has high pressures.
Don’t we wish it were one and done?!
I hope you will soon be getting the relief you need.
I’m beginning to have severe pain while laying down right where the styloid are on both sides. Pain and pressure in the hollow spot right behind my earlobe.
Is this typical for calcified styloids?
That sounds pretty typical, I couldn’t lie on my side at all before surgery, & for a while afterwards…there’s a lymph node in that area under your ear, & lots of us have had swollen & tender lymph nodes, so it could be that? Otherwise the styloids can sometimes be felt just under the jaw depending on the angle they’ve grown so could be causing pain there…
I’m glad you’re sleeping better & not in too much pain…hope that the reduced head & eye pressure continues, even if it’s a slow process…interesting that Dr Nakaji expects a slow recovery & not to look at a CTV until 3 months, it’s what we see here more often. Sending you hugs & prayers

Is your dominant side wide open? Interesting they feel the hypoplastic side is the issue for fixing?
Have they suggested both sides need doing at this time? How high were your pressures left?
Thanks Jules… it is a process. I am also a patient of Dr. Pereira St. Michael’s Toronto. His resident also confirmed they would wait 3 months to see results.
Dominant side is 50% compressed. I’ll be interested to see what Nakaji says about it. No pressures when measured. Very high pressures however on the small vein.
Ok makes sense. He will likely not recommend doing it but maybe.
You’ll have to keep me posted
All the best…this journey sucks but we are on it so onward we go🥰
@Luckee7 - Occipital pain is common with IJV compression & is often caused by the collateral veins that develop in that area to help do the work the compressed jugulars can’t do effectively. occipital pain usually subsides over time once the IJvs are more functional.
