“olden days”?? Hey, now that’s enough, olden days it wasn’t THAT long ago. Makes me feel old
Having had some dealings with insurers I cannot agree more with @Isaiah_40_31 when she says “Might be worthwhile checking w/ companies you’re considering during open enrollment…” I took on insurance never dreaming I’d need it. I took the easiest, simplist plan. I wish I’d investigated it more prior. When I needed to claim, OMG, it was made very difficult. I eventually got a lawyer involved and the company paid up.
With the newer definitions of ‘pre-existing conditions’ no insurer will cover me now or they make it cost 3x my income. My issue is neurological and one policy I was quoted wouldn’t cover my head/brain. I queried this " So, if I slip and break my leg, you could say I had a dizzy spell and that caused the slip, the policy would be null and void, even if its not related. The insurer said (and I quote) “We have 100 lawyers who would fight it…”
Please investigate your options thoroughly. It could save you untold headaches.
I had the choking sensation for a few months. Even went to the ER because I wasn’t sure what was going on. They just prescribed me some muscle relaxers and sent me on my way. I haven’t noticed it for quite awhile but I had my left styloid removed so it might not be hitting that area in my throat any more.
I get spasms/pain just below the right rib. I haven’t been able to determine if it’s my gall bladder or and injury to my abs. My gallbladder has checked out fine but I remember hearing that the vagus nerve can affect the sphincter firing in the gall bladder.
@stuuke i got emotional reading your post…some of my symptom’s are so bizarre, and i feel so alone with them. You just wrote one of my symptoms word for word! Spasms pain under the rib! Mine does this. No idea why. Are u waiting to have your other side removed?
You’re definitely not alone and the people on this board are really great. Unfortunately for a lot of us answers are slow to find. I’m seeing Dr. Hepworth and he switched the plan from removing my right styloid and a C1 shave to possibly trying a muscle block and botox in my neck first. I’ve had a few doctors recommend botox and even tried it for awhile but I think it was in the wrong area. I get tightness in my neck and it sometimes goes from my ear all the way down to my shoulder. That along with the TMJ symptoms, intense ear/head pressure, fatigue, trouble sleeping, brain fog and ringing in my ear. I also have had autoimmune and digestive symptoms. I’ve had a couple of sonograms of my gall bladder and I think I’ve also had both MRIs and CT scans. If they don’t find cancer they don’t really worry why it’s not working correctly. I do get some pain when I do certain ab exercises and it can act up at times. Other times it just kind of goes away for awhile and I forget about it. I am looking at trying some devices that are supposed to calm the vagus nerve.
