My non-dominant side is the side that has all the pressures from the catheter venogram. My dominant side, even though partially compressed, has very low pressures.
One of the surgeons that I’ve spoken with said he wants to do the non-dominant side. Ahhhh so confusing!
It’s my non-medical opinion that it would be worth getting the non-dominant side done first since it’s by far the worst. I think doctors truly don’t know for sure whether doing a dominant vs a non-dominant IJV decompression first will make the biggest different. I suspect each doctor bases his/her opinion on what seems to make the most logical sense to him/her. That said, there may be some statistical evidence out there, that I’m unaware of & didn’t take time to look for, that justifies one opinion over the other.
