I wish someone would bump me off, let alone bump it up😂

Cute. But I hope you are joking! Be assured you are not alone, and as your name says, there is reason to be optimistic. Keeping reading and posting…

Some times living is over rated.:joy:

Unless you are very, very aged, or a few other conditions where we must accept letting go and going back to God, please keep on living! We need you. With chronic illness depression is real. But some things can help it. Please continue. Science and we fellow sufferers need you. Dr. Hepworth wrote somewhere on FB that the average patient he sees has been suffering 19 years. (18 for me. My first surgery date is in May 2023.)

I like your list of reasons, but I think life should be treated as a meal, it’s ok to push the plate aside when you are full😂
How are you feeling as your date draws near?
I have had surgeries before, only on limbs and I would like to think that I would not be bothered, but deep down I think I am.
Mine was scheduled for January ( the first, not sure which side yet) but I think I have the year wrong, they meant 2024/5/6 , so I am like the mushroom, in the dark and fed bullxxxx😂

Hi Optimistic

How am I feeling as my surgery date draws near? Mainly it’s all I can think about. My symptoms fluctuate, apparently “inflammation” related. Neck and head pain is the worst. I’m able to mitigate it somewhat using metabolic coffee. It might be that I have also had a slow CSF leak for these many years, plus lots of additional challenges. There’s more, but maybe in a next conversation.

When you talk of your surgeries, do you mean you’re concerned about your styloidectomies?
Me too! Like you I’ve had other surgeries. This upcoming one is surprising me in that I’m kinda scared. I don’t think I’ve been scared for any prior surgeries.

I’m in the U.S. Where are you? Terrible about
the surgery date mixup! How can that happen?! I like your funny words, just concerned about what might be behind them.

I am in Southern Ireland
I think suicidal thoughts when inflammation is at its worst and it interferes with work and day to day things, but I think it’s healthy to think about it, I consider the impact this would have on my family and friends and I soon dismiss the idea
I am deliberately not taking meds now, my goal is to make it to tomorrow night, nothing further up the road is planned,
Photophobia has me finished off for the night , and I have left my sunglasses in the car so I will definitely catch up with you later :muscle::muscle::grin:It comes and goes, it’s been around now for over a week, and I hope I can get a break from it soon

Always wear a shirt w/ a pocket to drop those sunglasses in or get one of those glasses cords you can wear around your neck & you’ll always have those sunglasses w/ you when you need them. :joy:

Seriously, I’m really sorry you have the photophobia symptom. Very tough when you work outside!! I hope it disappears as quickly as it came on. :hugs:

Amazing how inflammation can overtake out brains. I suffer this, too. As I do what I can to help the inflammation (I like to think it’s sort of blocked toxic lymph that I can help my body get rid of), my thoughts usually improve. Meanwhile I take advantage of meditation and a sort “Tummy breathing” per a physical therapist. And prayer. I have to take a few medicines, too. Then I can think more like your name.

Yes, day by day gets us through. Thinking of you. Hope you can tame some of the inflammation.
