@Morechoiriel Hi & welcome to the site! So frustrating for you…if the vagus nerve is affected it can cause anxiety, so even if doctors diagnose anxiety correctly, it can be caused by ES!
Are you able to get a referral now to an ENT with experience of ES?
I wanted to sincerely thank you for sharing your story. I actually read this a few days ago and it touched me so deeply I needed some time to process it all. My heart aches for the pain you have been through and are still feeling. I myself didn’t understand the emotional toll this journey had taken me through and am still trying to understanding how to recover. What adds to the heart break is the number of stories that are all so similar. From the movement I woke up, post op my mind wouldn’t stop racing with thoughts, questions, and emotions. I started writing endlessly, telling my story and composing information to clinical questions and discoveries I had discovered about this condition. I then decided that I would share this letter and insight to all of the medical professionals who misdiagnosed me and quite frankly anyone who would listen. I have shared my letter to over 30 local specialist, and while I can’t deny the painful silence from most providers there are a few who have listened. It only takes ONE. I hope this can intern help one person whos in their endless struggle to find the answer. Your expertise in the dental field and powerful story will truly have an incredible impact. I ask to you to consider sharing this with your medical community. Thank you for your vulnerability, your strength, and your relentless fight. <3
I hope that you take comfort that at least a few doctors listened to you & are now aware of ES; so hopefully that’s some potential ES sufferers who’ll be diagnosed sooner
