Looking for ENT Specialist Near Fort Myers to DX

I saw my neurologist today and he won’t give me the “official” diagnosis because he doesn’t treat it nor know anything about it. He’s referring me to Dr. Erin Kaye, ENT at University of Miami, which is a few hour drive for me. Does anyone have experience with a provider closer to the Fort Myers area? Or experience with any ENT at Univ. of Miami?

I’ll do the drive if necessary. I drive several hours for my rheumatologist and the Maxillofacial surgeon. It’s just challenging when so many of my providers are hours away.

I’m sorry you’ve been pushed off without much help. Being referred to another doctor who doesn’t have a clue about ES will be a waste of gas, time & $ for you though it would be interesting to find out if Dr. Kaye is familiar w/ ES. This is the only doctor in Miami on our Doctors List so no closer for you, but at least he’s familiar w/ ES. No one has mentioned his name in quite a while. I hope he’s still seeing ES patients!

Definitely worth ringing Dr Kaye’s office before you go to the appointment, if you do decide to go, in case they’re unfamiliar with ES. Hope one of the other doctors on the list is helpful otherwise!

We are located in ft myers and hwve seen many docs in town. No one seems to know about it and in fact, my son was told he did not have ES when in fact he did. We had to go out of the area. Dr. Hackman in chapel hill, nc did my sons bilateral surgery in December. Dr. Cognetti in Philly did his hyoid surgery as well. Both docs are very good with Eagles.
