Persistent cough

Has anyone else experienced a hoarse cough that persisted with ES. My husband’s throat pain started Nov. 17th. I’ve posted in another thread about all his other symptoms and his potential diagnosis by an endodontist. One thing I noticed was his cough that began towards the end of week one of all of this. It’s a strained sounding cough. He also has gastritis and reflux that has been triggered by this. He doesn’t cough when lying down to sleep. It’s once he is up and throughout the day. I’ve searched via google and found that both ES and the gastro issues can cause the cough. Curious if this has been a consistent symptom with any of you suffering with ES? I feel like no matter what I search with ES, it can “be a symptom”. Which is helpful and frustrating at the same time.

@Acliff - We do have members who’ve had a persistent cough as one of their ES symptoms. That along w/ gastritis are usually related to vagus nerve irritation/compression by the styloid(s). There can be resolution of both as the vagus nerve heals, once it’s source of irritation is removed.

If you click on the magnifying glass in the upper right of this page & type chronic cough into the search box, links for a number of posts where a cough symptom is mentioned will come up for you to read.
