I am only at the consultation part… We meet on Thursday, which will be my first meeting with someone knowledgeable about this problem so it will be interesting at a minimum. I’ll let you know how it goes.

@lilwider Unfortunately Dr. Costantino’s office called Wednesday to cancel the appointment. They said due to a surgery emergency and would call back to reschedule. Haven’t heard back yet.

@Leah - I’m so sorry that happened. Very frustrating for you!! There is no harm in calling them this coming week to follow-up even if they told you they’d call you. It may help you get back on tDr. C’s schedule sooner.

Hi there! Did you have anything else done other styloids removed, such as c1 shave? Who did your surgery? Were your styloid issues clear on imaging?

@Steven1976 - I had my styloids removed - one in 2014 & the other in 2015. I had a cycling accident w/ a head injury just prior to my surgery in 2015 which put the surgery off till later in the year. The accident started my journey w/ symptoms that were diagnosed as Meniere’s Disease ie hearing loss, vertigo, chronic loud tinnitus. About 6 years after the accident & subsequent styloidectomy, I received info that my Meniere’s symptoms might be from IJV compression so I began my investigation to see if I had that. An MRV & CTA were read as normal by radiologists, but I uploaded them into [dicomlibrary.com](http://dicomlibrary.com) & shared the results w/ a former member of this forum. He returned 3D images to me that showed I had bilateral IJV compression caused by soft tissue on the right & by the IJV being squashed between my styloid stub & C1 (which had shifted to the left as a result of my bike accident 6 yrs earlier) on the left. My MD symptoms were all on the left.
I finally had surgery w/ Dr. Hepworth last year in Oct. Unfortunately, it didn’t restore my hearing, but it did stop the progression of the hearing loss, & it stopped the vertigo episodes. I still have chronic loud tinnitus (left ear) which may be due to another surgery I had tin 2019 in an effort to save my hearing, but required some bone to be removed from my inner ear, & that may be what’s perpetuating the tinnitus.
My initial CT scan was done w/o contrast & the surgeon who did my first two surgeries doesn’t look for IJV compression nor does he deal w/ it if it does exist. Below is my diagnostic scan:
