I would add having a baby spoon on hand. I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough for a regular spoon for the first 10 days but a baby spoon really fit the bill!

This is so helpful. Thank you @seamom and everyone else who contributed. Surgery tomorrow for me, externally on left side only and I have used your list as the basis for getting ready for it.  
I also got a Sigvaris Aesthetic Medical Care Face garment which I’ll link below. Not sure how I will go with it, but will update if it works well.

@BraveKat - I’ll be praying for you tomorrow.

A few years ago Dr. Hackman used to put a “neck bra” on his patients post ES surgery. It was a compressive neck collar to help reduce post op swelling. It seemed to work very well. I think it was worn for 2-3 days post op but maybe a bit longer. I don’t think he uses those anymore, but I’ve wondered why. Perhaps the Face Garment will work the same way & the compression it provides for your neck will be helpful in keeping post op inflammation down a bit.
