Surgery with Dr. Nakaji Post op report

@crumblecookie I had the IR angiogram with manometry prior to my surgery with Dr. Nakaji. He measured the pressure gradients at 18 different locations in the brain both in neutral and flexed neck positions. My gradients were as low as 4 in some places and as high as 18 in others. It’s been a while now since I was doing all of my research and reading all the studies but I seem to recall that anything above 8mm Hg was considered significant.

Hi there. I am waiting for insurance to approve surgery with Nakaji since I’m out of network. Please keep us updated. I’d love to know how your experience goes.

I hope that you can get approval for the surgery @megb , there have been discussions about how to appeal if not, & apparently there should be a patient advocate with insurance companies who can help you?

@megb - I also hope your insurance will come through for you! As @Jules said there have been discussions about how to appeal even all the way to your state’s medical insurance board, if necessary, so you can have surgery done by an out of state specialist when there is none in your state.

@megb It can be helpful if Dr. Nakaji’s office agrees to accept your insurance companies in network contracted rate. That way they are paying the same for him as any in network provider. Good luck!
