Very cute! Small enough to trip over, definitely!
Uno was always one of my fave games to play with the boys, I miss that, they’re too big now!
A PEACH! TODAY, I ATE A PEACH!
I’m from Georgia, y’all! Peaches are YUM right now! Every grocery store has a table with peaches from about an hour away from where I live. They are practically perfect this year.
Before surgery I couldn’t handle a juicy peach. The juice would get away from me, I couldn’t move my tongue how I wanted, my throat wouldn’t close all the way and I would feel like I aspirated some of the juice. I ate it with EASE today. It was a wonderful moment. No clicking has sneaked up on me today either.
SewMomma!
So HAPPY to hear it!!
Yay!! Toffees were my thing (I did start a discussion on that I was so chuffed at being able to eat them again!) , not as healthy as you! Enjoy!
Hello! I don’t think I shared with you that I had a suspicious mole biopsied in March. It came back atypical and I put the excision off until today as ES was the priority.
So I have now three 2-inch incisions on my body. The mole was on my shoulder blade area. The medical profession just can’t get enough of me.
Bright side - no laundry and vacuuming for 2 weeks until I go back for suture removal. I timed it to still take it easy from the ES surgery.
Hi SewMomma,
What we wont do to get out of laundry and vacuuming. All kidding aside, I wish you a speedy recovery. Will it be biopsied again ? Glad you got it taken care of.
Peace,
Teresa
Hi - I know, right? A mother’s vacation.
Yes it all got sent off to check the margins. I really am glad to have an excuse to take a full 6 weeks to recover from ES. Today is 4 weeks post-op. Great swallows.
Ok, so I did it again! I lifted my daughter but guess what this time it was great! And you know why? Cause it happened in the pool
Yep, that’s right I went for a long, and much overdue swim with my family and it felt great on my achy body!! Thinking this is where I’ll be living for the next mth to help me get through the waiting process. To bad it’s not the beach in the Bahamas but I’ll save that for after the surgery! In the meantime I’ll be pool side listening to Jimmy Buffett
Whatever it takes to get you through, Christy! Glad you found a way to lift your daughter safely! More fun for both of you. Besides that, you’ll have a beautiful tan & a fit body from all that swimming. Watch those sun rays though. Don’t want too many!
Glad you’ve found a way to share fun & games with your family without causing pain!
@ Christy
We’ve got to roll with the punches, play all or our hunches and make the best of whatever comes our way. J.B.
Maybe for 4th of July you can have a cheeseburger in your paradise.
Sitting on the couch reading, I guess I sort of had my head cocked in a weird position and when I swallowed I had some clicks. Boo. Trying not to be too disappointed.
Sounds like you put everything a little out of alignment? You’re still healing…patience, patience! Big hug…
Aren’t you between week 4 & 5? How many times have you read on this post that between weeks 4 & 5 that people have random setbacks that make them feel like the surgery didn’t work? Minor set back. Might be a few more - focus on the good days (and come a couple weeks, remind me the same;).
Thank you @Jules and @sjlash, I really needed to hear that. My mind was completely void of any perspective yesterday. Thanks for writing. I refuse to panic.
Ufff this is such a steep learning curve! Thank you SewMomma for helping us all learn and grow from your experience. Those of us waiting in the wings for our turn will benefit greatly from your support when we too sway off the path in the midst of the healing process. Hope your day is better and brighter today!
I can now see the puffiness/swelling moving to the other side of my neck - it makes since that I would be able to sense that from the inside. I see it with my eyes now and am trusting it’s all still doing it’s thing. Trying to go with it. Mom told me last night she’s learned patience from me through all this. There is no exchange for time. Eating fine, just not loving the smoothness of the swallows this weekend. It will all settle.
You’ve finished the steroids? Maybe it’s starting to swell up a little again after they’ve done their job, are you still icing when you can? It’ll settle again, I’m sure!
