I agree. There will be a whole new world open to PTs to help correct these problems since most people are not as motivated to take care of themselves as you are @vdm.
What specifically did u do to help the clicking hyoid? Is strengthening the muscles around the hyoid bone what is needed. are chin tucks a good idea? I’ve been laying on my back and tilting head up to look towards feet while laying down, it seems to work the front muscles around the hyoid. I’m trying to get better without paying to go to physical therapy. Just had Eagles syndrome surgery and hoping I don’t need another surgery and it can get better with exercises.
Hi there! It wasn’t really my hyoid clicking, I have palatal myoclonus, so it’s my soft palate that clicks. I did get injections into my hyoid and above it going towards almost my scm area and that helped a little but not a lot. I actually found out I don’t have HBS. I had/have an extremely inflamed TMJ joint that made all of the muscles around it contract, I’m have total joint replacement this year. I would say if you can find a doctor to inject your hyoid with lidocaine and steroid, I know people in other forums who have had a lot of success with this.
@etherealcataclysms I’m glad you’ve got a diagnosis & some answers! I hope that your TMJ replacement surgery goes well
@KCarey , I don’t know if there’s any useful info for you but @vdm did a list of his favourite resources & exercises he found helpful, here’s a link to that:

Hi Jules! Thanks so much! Unfortunately I can’t do any exercises right now because of the state my joints are in, but I’ll definitely save for later
It was more aimed at @KCarey about the exercises, but hope you’re able to do more after your surgery…
