Bilateral calcification

Tinnitus- depending on what sort- does unfortunately seem to be one symptom which doesn’t always resolve with surgery! If it’s pulsatile tinnitus from IJV compression then this often does improve, but quite a few members find high pitched tinnitus doesn’t… I hope that your angiogram goes okay this week!

@Bc2 - We’ve gotten both stories about Dr. Osborne accepting insurance or not from members here so were a bit confused ourselves. Apparently he does take insurance but a limited number of plans. Most of our members who’ve seen him have had to do battle w/ their insurance companies to get them to pay at least part of the cost of their surgeries w/ Dr. Osborne. A few have been able to pay his cash price. There are a number of discussions on our forum about making an appeal for surgery w/ an out of network doctor. Contacting a medical insurance patient advocate is a good place to start if needed.

Angiogram went well my stent looked good. However when I got home my tinnitus went through the roof and I had a throbbing headache. Just started my 7th year. Lovely life

I sympathize, @Bc2. I started having visual migraines after I had my angio/venogram. They only lasted about 4 days but each time I worried I was having a stroke. Even though that sort of testing can be beneficial, it also has its downsides. We’ve had one member who died due to a brain bleed in the midst of hers so they are not to be taken lightly.

Hello everyone :hugs::heart: , I’d like to share an update with you all. I recently underwent surgery with Dr. Kamran. The procedure was successful, lasted three hours, and went smoothly without any complications. The first three to four days were the toughest, but after that, things got easier.

Dr. Kamran performed a bilateral styloidectomy and also repositioned my carotid arteries, which were tangled around my jugular vein. I am currently in recovery but am already noticing improvements. I know it’s still early and it will take several months to fully heal, but so far, I am very satisfied. I highly recommend reaching out to him for any related concerns—he is a highly skilled surgeon!

I’ll share some photos below :slightly_smiling_face:

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you in the group who have been a tremendous help and provided me with support when I needed it most, especially @Isaiah_40_31, @TML , @tesla001, @Jules , @Emerald, @Lenaj, @Stylocarotid, @Val7426, @ryanab  :face_blowing_a_kiss: :folded_hands:

My styloids are finally out  . Both were 4 cm long, but a portion of the right styloid was calcified, so it wasn’t preserved.

@Sara32 - Your styloids look longer than 4 cm to me! So good that those things are no longer in your neck causing trouble!!

Excellent news that you’re feeling better & understand it will take a while to get fully back to feeling great!

Thank you for your update.

Thank you everyone for the support!! Recovery went smoothly for the first couple of weeks, now I have a little setback but I think it’ll pass quickly too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you Jules! I came back home 7 days after the surgery :hugs:

I hope it does settle again…not saying you have, but remember to take it easy as many of us have overdone things in the first few weeks which can interrupt healing…when you’ve felt rotten for a while it’s nice to be able to get active again & sometimes we can easily forget we’re still healing inside… :hugs:

Truth be told, I’ve probably overdone it myself, which is why I’m now facing the consequences. As the tissues in my neck heal, I have all sorts of symptoms: from feelings of choking, tightness, burning, to strange muscle and nerve symptoms. I just hope it’s all part of the recovery. Thanks for the support and advice, Jules :slightly_smiling_face: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::folded_hands:
