@jsisto the post op images if I remember correctly were a ctv at six months that showed stil severe compression on the left at neutral and blocked with left turn
About 1 cm of the styloid was removed as well as calcified ligament,
It seams this is we’re the most compression is still and the c1 is slightly rotated to the right
we gave it some more time to heal up hoping for the best
we did another catheter about nine months that showed complete occlusion and flow reversion when turned to left
when turned to the right the right side gets compressed but not completely,
As far as the tinnitus I think I have at least three types
-
high pitch single tone that lasts for under a minute ,this seams to be related to a movement but maybe happens1-4 times a day depending on activity
-
more like a flow noise , when you hear water running the the walls of a house, almost like the whine of an electric fan motor running at constant speed ? It feels hard to describe I can’t even make a sound close to it when asked lol
This one is the worst for me
It feels constant during the day and varies in intensity at times unbearable
I will also have some days o wake with out the noise but then returns later in the day -
the pulsitile , kind of like a wave like whooshing
Also triggered by position either side bending or stretching out and yawning as well
Some times I feel it just behind the ears pulsing
When I have ear pain and fullness events
Previous to surgery and seeing DR Hui I had “poly-tone-al “ or multiple tones like beeping of higher range as well but this type has not returned post surgery
@Isaiah_40_31
When I last saw Dr Hepworth in September
We did ultrasound and this showed high numbers in the right internal jugular near the area were dr H did a ohmahyoid resection(cut it “in half” to free it from adhesion to jugular)
He suggested doing the right styloidectomy and it would help flow ,but there was good flow to left and straight but compressed to the right turns
We did not address why the left was not cut back further nor did we talk about c1 shave there as an option
I think it was my fault as I did not have my veinogram disc with me to look at the results
As symptoms got worse again I saw Dr Hui to discuss Dr Hepworth recommendation
And he believes getting the left to flow better would be the next step, not the right styloidectomy
Dr Hui went in detail over the imaging from both the ctv and the veinogram and suggests doing a c1 shave and maybe stent afterwards to the left
This makes good sense to me as I had tremendous relief from the first surgery initially
I am awaiting to schedule for Dr Hepworth and Dr Hui in Hawaii in March but I am not sure if they can get me in during his trip/ training during that time
I am just in the waiting phase and would really like for Dr Hepworth to do the left side shave but just waiting to hear back
Fingers crossed
Thanks @Jules , yes would love for DR Hepworth to see me here at home rather than doing another trip to Colorado
The alternative in another surgeon working with Dr Hui for the C1 shave but , he is less experienced ? Or just differently trained I guess
So just waiting for the moment
Love and prayers out to you folks
Happy holidays
