Hi, thanks for sharing great detail of your story!! Just a few questions:
I habe vascular Eagles so my right ijv is 100% blocked and the left side is 75 % blocked from Styloids pinching them off.
Do you know if Dr.Cognetti does angioplasty (ballooning) of the vein after the Styloids are out to make sure the vein opens up and stays open for blood to flow?
Itâs been a while since some of the members above have been on the forum so you may not get a response, but hopefully others whoâve had surgery with Dr Cognetti will chip in with their experience & know more than I do about him⌠I donât think that he does angioplasty, probably the best doctor for vascular ES is Dr Hepworth in Colorado, but he is really busy.
Hi Mindy!
I hope youâre doing much better and your time with Dr Hepworth was helpful.
Just answering this to maybe help future peoples and wish you the best.
Iâm not sure about the angioplasty with Dr Cognetti. My spike had very minimal vascular compression on tests (which I still donât totally understand because it would make my vision blurry and sometimes Iâd faint) so that wasnât a focus of the surgery.
I would hope Dr Cognetti or any surgeon worth their salt would triage depending on severity.
And the time from first appt to surgery was only a little over 2 weeks! That part blew my mind. It was a 6 month or so wait to even be in the presence of the first otolaryngologist.
Hi, how are you doing now?
Dr Cognetti is busier now, & I think only does surgery set days in the month now, so waits are a bit longerâŚbut nothing compared to Canada & the UK! Dr Hepworth is very much in demand too, & waits are a while for himâŚ
