Finally!

Finally had my right IJV decompression surgery, with styloid process and C1 transverse process resected on Friday with Dr Rao and Dr Elliot.

Not sure if folks are interested in the “inards” but I’ll post the video Dr Elliot sent me. This is clearly the “after”, I’m waiting on Dr Rao to send me the “before”.

I do love a bit of gore.

How are you feeling? I’m so glad that you’ve finally had your surgery, and praying that it’s successful! :folded_hands: :hugs: :bouquet:

Thanks @jules.

Checking out of hospital today, and starting to feel the pain now, but I’m actively keeping ahead of it. My partner has noted already how different I sound, more chipper, more clarity.

I’ll be honest it’s been a tough stay at Mac Uni Hospital, (due to some questionable things,) but I do not regret the surgery at all, and am looking forward to seeing what else shifts,

Oh, and thank you to whoever recommended ice chips!!! They are a lifesaver

feeling very optimistic

AMAZING picture @htren! Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeing the before picture when you get it!

I’m so glad your partner has already noted improvement. Don’t be upset if there’s a bit of backsliding over the first couple of months. That’s normal w/ this surgery. As your body readjusts to the new level of blood flow into/out of your brain & nerves begin healing in earnest, you’ll gradually start feeling much better.
