Hello, Kyle again. Please advise on next steps. Stuck homeless in NorCal

I have made it to Raleigh, North Carolina. I have $4 in my pocket. Hoping this is the right move, that I can see Hackman and get help.

Thank you for the update, Kyle. Please let us know when you get your appointment with Dr. Hackman. I trust that you will get one. If you have surgery with him, there is housing near the hospital that is low cost. You could look into staying there after surgery. They may have some sort of program for people in your financial situation. - SECU Family House - https://www.secufamilyhouse.org

Greetings everyone,

I’m in North Carolina now in a homeless shelter. I will be able to stay here as long as I need. I appreciate everyone’s contributions. Tomorrow I’m going to try and get on Medicaid. I feel terrible. This condition never stops making me feel like I died and went to hell, and I can only sleep for an hour or so at a time so without having a nightmare wake me up. I suspect the styloidectomy will help, but I’ve been “diagnosed” with CCI by a chiropractor and I’m now worrying I’m going down the wrong path. I’m certain it’s my vagus nerve being irritated because my symptoms match with that. I’m just so scared and alone. Hopefully Hackman can help me.

@KyleneedshelpNOW - I’m so glad you’re in a shelter & not on the street. That’s a good first step. I hope your Medicaid application is readily accepted & you’re able to get an appointment w/ Dr. Hackman reasonably soon afterward.

To get a true CCI diagnosis, you’d need an upright MRI so maybe not to worry until you’ve been diagnosed for certain. We have members who’ve had CCI diagnoses, who’ve actually felt much better after ES surgery, so having styloidectomies isn’t always the wrong decision. In some cases, CCI symptoms have been known to be improved by PT to help strengthen neck muscles once the styloids are gone.

Please let us know how things go w/ your Medicaid application & getting an appointment w/ Dr. Hackman.

Try Dr. Branden Cord @ UC Davis.

@bscott713 - Thank you for your recommendation. @KyleneedshelpNOW has moved to North Carolina now & hopes to see Dr. Hackman.

Did Dr. Cord do your recent styloidectomy?
