Can you send on forum some scans in the Dicom format?
Previously, people used to attach links to dicom files on google drive
The vascular neurosurgeon today said my jugular compression would not be causing my symptoms and people can live with one jugular etc etc which I understand is just one persons point of view… he did say he thinks I may have Lyme disease and to be tested for that.. I did have viral meningitis two years ago and it’s possible it was Lyme Meningitis and they missed it.. or he said it can be an arachnoid granulation I have in my transverse sinus but he thinks it’s highly unlikely and I would need a catheter venogram to rule that out and it causes stroke for 1 in 300 people and to only do it if I don’t have Lyme disease confirmed and exhaust all other option.
Tuesday I have consultation with the famous Kejtl Larson to see what he thinks
And Peter costantino in September
Also sent my scans to Dr Nakaji who will advise me on his recommendations this coming week as well..
Any thoughts on the Lyme?
Here are a couple of images from posts on our forum that have been converted to 3D via dicom programs. You can use radiantviewer.com for PCs or Bee Dicom Viewer App for Macs to get similar images:
We have some members who have been diagnosed with Lyme. Below are some links to posts w/ good information. Whether or not it would cause or contribute to the symptoms you have I can’t say for sure, but it does cause systemic inflammation which could affect other problems going on in one’s body. You can use the magnifying glass search tool to look for more Lyme related posts. Just type Lyme into the search box.
Sounds as if it’s worth trying the testing…some people can live with one jugular but not all, some people can be very symptomatic with not that much compression…& it also depends on whether you have a dominant IJV & if that’s the one compressed it can make you more symptomatic… Good that you have other options, let us know what Kjetil Larsen says!
Wondering what shave process does. Where are ligaments attached is my question. I am still unclear
Have you had any clarification what attaches to tunercle. I also had Neurosurgeon tell me the same.
I did phone consult and in office visit. He is excellent and likes to look at all possible issues.
Not just styloids and transverse process . He likes to know what is happening in the head eg. Stenosis in other areas. Have you had your appt?
I don’t believe there are any ligaments attached to the C1 tubercle in the area where it’s shaved, @Bmmac. The ligaments that are on that part of the vertebra are the intertransverse ligaments that connect the transverse process of C1 to the transverse process of C2. The tool they use to shave the bone is specialized & won’t cut soft tissue, only bone. That info comes from Dr. Costantino but you can ask Dr. Nakaji about it to be sure.
