MADABHUSHI et. al. -- Hybrid Approach to Jugular Vein Decompression for Eagle Syndrome – A Case Series

A surgical team in Maryland performed a case series of seventeen IJV decompression operations. The operations included styloidectomy, C1 shave, resection of the digastric muscle, and venolysis of the jugular. They had about 77% success rate.

I posted this paper partly because some members of this forum may wish to consult with these surgeons about IJV compression. (I don’t believe they are on the list).

Thanks for posting this paper! I’ve added their names to the doctors list, that’s really helpful for members to have another option for IJV decompression! Not sure if these doctors have performed the surgery themselves or if they’ve just collated data, but presumably someone at University of Maryland is doing the surgery!
