DR Hackmans Office requested them, and they were finally sent!! Cervical Spine showed some Degenerative Discs C5-C8ish but Im more concerned on the Brain…
I’m sorry you’re adding one more worry to all you’re dealing w/ @MamaBear6 & wonder if that could be a consequence of the throat injury you experienced?
I looked up chronic microvascular disease on Google & found several websites that discuss it. I would talk to Dr. Hackman about it & ask if there’s a particular specialist you could see back home to address it. Getting a second opinion on the MRI would also be a good idea.
Here’s one link: Microvascular Ischemic Disease: Symptoms & Treatment.
I’m praying for you & this new diagnosis along w/ your appt. tomorrow. Hope it goes really well.

Glad you got the results…but! Sending you a hug ![]()
I asked Dr Hackman and he said that it could possibly be a result of the Trauma… White Matter is sometimes a Result of Head Trauma, so he told me not to worry myself too much, it could just be a sign of a Concussion… which I do have Post Concussion Syndrome… he said to repeat an MRI in 6-12 Months and if there is more White Mass, then it would be more of a concern along the lines of MS given my Symptoms…
He wad SOOOO helpful!!!
I’m super glad you asked Dr. Hepworth about your MRI, @MamaBear6. Also really glad he was helpful.
What did he think about your symptoms & styloid lengths? Does he think revision surgery will help you?
He is very confident that Revision will help!! He said that there are Fragments of Styloid all the way to, and beyond my Hyoid, some still Calcified to it as well… he said that there is still Styloid on both sides and it seems as if the previous Surgeon didnt remove anything on the Right side which, just brings so many questions… SO MANY QUESTIONS with my new Symptoms AND the other MRI Interpretation that i just received…
What a disappointment that a surgeon we’d had good reports about did such a botch job on you. I’m very sorry but am so glad you were able to follow through with Dr. Hackman & have hope of much greater improvement going forward. Did you schedule surgery w/ Dr. Hackman?
I signed all of the Paperwork before leaving Thursday, just waiting for Marsela to call with my Surgery Date!! But, yes… sooo many questions as to whyyy… what went wrong with my previous Surgeries? Something had to have gone wrong!!
Honestly, I don’t know what a surgeon sees when a person’s neck is opened that would keep him/her from doing a procedure in the way that was discussed. However, it seems that the doctor should explain post op what was done & why especially if the surgical course was modified for some reason. I’ve noticed with a number of other members that similar things have happened. It’s so frustrating!! I wonder if the surgeons are reluctant to discuss details for fear of being accused of being incompetent, subsequently being sued & having their reputations tarnished (tarnished reputation happens via patient bad report, too…wonder if they consider that?), or if they truly believe they accomplished what they set out to do? That, I’m afraid is a mystery we may never know the answer to.
