My symptoms are very similar, so I can relate. I have everything you are relating and even more - I have EXTREME, sudden - out-of-the-blue - BP spikes that can last 5 minutes to 1 1/2 hours! I can feel myself starting to feel like I am going to faint, so I immediately take my BP; it is almost always over 170 and sometimes in the 200 range (systolic, although one time a couple days ago my diastolic was 192). I have been taking 0.1 or 0.2 mg of Clonidine when this happens, but my Cardiologist said that can cause rebound hypertension, so he doesn’t want me to take it. I have no other recourse if my BP becomes this extreme, so I try to wait it out as best I can, but the other night I had to take it because my BP just kept rising for 4 hours until it was 219/192.
Since more than 43 doctors/specialists have not been able to tell me what is happening, in September (2023) I went to a Chiropractor and ALL my symptoms went away, except the Tinnitus. HOWEVER, just before my last adjustment, I started feeling light-headed and walking like I was a bit drunk one morning; this repeated the next day when I went in for my last adjustment. Unfortunately, I had an ATTACK with my BP rising fast during the adjustment, so he had to stop. When my BP gets REALLY, REALLY HIGH, sometimes the ATTACKS are accompanied by feeling very, very cold and shaking of my hands and/or whole body. This happened with this particular attack. It was awful, because these attacks all started April 10, 2020; with nothing helping, an ENT I saw told me he had a patient with similar symptoms that Metoprolol Succinate ER (25 mg 2 x day or 50 mg 1 x day) helped. He said give it a couple weeks or so to get in the system, and sure enough, after 2-3 weeks I experienced a lessening of my other symptoms, i.e., head pounding (migraine-like), throbbing, pulsating, vibration feeling, and the tinnitus and I HAD NO MORE BP ATTACKS FOR 2 YEARS (after having the last) chiropractic adjustment. The Moderator feels (and I agree) that going off the Metoprolol Succinate for a few months that I did because it was causing strands of my hair to fall out, coupled with the chiropractor adjustment maybe being a little bit too much, these 2 factors caused the attacks to start up again - and ALL the symptoms returned. The WORST symptom to deal with is the extreme BP attacks because they make me feel like I’m going to pass out.
I hope I explained my situation well enough, because I want to try to help anyone that might be experiencing the same symptoms as me and I don’t want to be confusing.
Thanks.
