Hello, Everyone. I joined the forum a few days ago. I wish I had known about it sooner. Your stories and experiences have been so encouraging. I’ve been dealing with ES since I was about 5 or 6yrs old, but I didn’t know what it was. I visited so many doctors who believed it was all in my head. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was in my late teens.
I had surgery for ES in 2018, but the doctor was not experienced. He had never even heard of ES, but I was desperate. The doctor went through my left tonsil and shaved down the styloid ligament but didn’t remove it from the base. He didn’t touch the right side at all. Since then, the left styloid ligament has grown back. I also found out the doctor chipped a piece of the bone and now it’s floating around in my throat. I’ve had two consultations with Dr. Osbourne. His office contacted me today about a surgery date. I’m so looking forward to getting rid of my symptoms and having a better quality of life.
Thank you for sharing your story. I’m very sorry to learn you’ve had symptoms for such a long time & subsequently had a surgery that has perhaps caused more harm than good. I’m so glad you’ve seen Dr. Osborne & are planning to have him do your surgery(ies). He’s helped quite a number of our members & provided excellent outcomes in most cases. I trust that will be true for you.
