Let’s hope they can get you in sooner then!
anharris,
It makes a big difference once the deductible is met, eh!?
For sure! Makes it easier to push for answers and not feel like time is wasted when we come up empty too.
Im with you on that one anharris. I am $235 away from meeting my coinsurance limit for the year and then they pay 100%. My surgery is 5 weeks away and I should have accrued that $235 by then making surgery ZERO cost for me!
Im so afraid with COVID rates rising, they will delay surgeries again but my friend in medicine says in bay area they are in good shape so I should be ok. Often surgeries open during this time of year so I hope you get in sooner. Call often as sometimes things open up and get snapped up by others. Its all about being at the right place at the right time.
It seems I always have surgeries in December putting a crunch on the holiday season. Thats when I bought a fake xmas tree a few years ago which I said I would never do. It has lights on it, pine cones and flocked. One year I never got ornaments on it as I was just not up to it and it still looked great. LOL.
My surgery is officially scheduled for January 5th! I am on the cancelation list but doubt anything will come up.
Well I hope you can get in sooner. Many people do cancel at the last minute.
Adding to Snapple’s response - many people do cancel last minute especially around the holidays. I do hope you get an earlier slot, but if not HOORAY for having your next surgery scheduled relatively soon!

Also! It’s a picture of a screen so there’s a bit less clarity, but you can (I think) see my right styloid in this picture - on the left bc xray is flipped. My dentist pointed it out yesterday as we were going over my health history - first provider other than my surgeon who knew what this was!
Yup! That’s a nice long one anharris! You’ll feel so much better when it’s gone. I will be praying for your second surgery to go as well as your first one did.
I hope you have a really nice Thanksgiving this week.
Thank you! Glad to know I’m looking in the right place. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving as well. We’re planning to go to a local park since the weather will be in the 40s and in home gatherings are limited for the next 4 weeks.
You’re a tough lot up there in the north! I wouldn’t hang out at a park if it was in the 40s! I’m a wimpy Californian, used to my nice moderate semi-west coast climate.

Somehow my surgery date creeped up on me! Heading in tomorrow for what will hopefully be my last eagles surgery. Will update in a few days.
Good luck @anharris! I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow.
HOORAY! I’ll pray! So glad you’re almost done w/ the surgeries.
Best wishes! i was thinking it must be soon- will be praying for you!
I’m out of surgery and in a room! Dr. Omlie said the surgery went well. Not sure if this is normal but my throat and nose are a bit more sore than last time.
So glad that you had a good surgery! Hope the pain gets under control & you can get some sleep.
So glad for the good report. Recovery seems to be different with each side. Hopefully you’ll get better quickly. You know the drill - pain meds, ice & head elevation + taking it easy. I know you’re in good hands when you get home. That TLC will help a lot!
I’m awake at 1a for whatever reason. Pain is sitting at about a 5 an hour after my last med so I’m considering asking what else we can do. There’s less swelling this time, maybe because they used a different local anesthetic that I wasn’t allergic to. I’ve got my head elevated as well as my knees. They bandaged it differently this time so instead of liquid bandage I’ve got what I think is a compression dressing over the incision.
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.
My surgeon came by and removed the dressing. He went with smaller internal stitches and butterfly tape instead of the liquid bandage. This and the local change were due to allergies and I think both were good choices as I’ve got quite a bit less swelling. Assuming I can get up and about I’ll go home today.
