Hi. I know Dr. Jonathan Hughes in Cleveland Clinic who can arrange CT venogram. Private.
He ordered for me this scan .
But I trying to manage my pain with Amitriptilyn .
Does the clinic use insurance? Private insurance like Axa
I think Mr Hughes works in several of private clinics/ health care groups, so I would presume one of them would take Axa…I did a quick google & his name comes up with Spire, Bupa, Royal Free private patients, Harley St as well as the Cleveland clinic- he’s a busy man!
Mr Patrick Axon is very experienced with IJV compression (he did both my surgeries), he works at Spire Lea hospital in Cambridge.
Can patrick order CTV to check for IJV compression or does he just do CT to check for elongation of styloid
He does a CT with contrast to look for IJV compression.
In case helps I saw Mr Timothy in Leeds who diagnosed my JV compression. I have seen Mr Hughes but for operations not scans. D
Thanks
What hospital is Mr Timothy and what scan did he order
He is at Nuffield Leeds but my scans with him were at London Bridge Hospital. He does remote consults. He examines scans himself & does not just rely on radiologist report, which is a good thing. D
Scans are Ct with rotation & mri but I have CCI too. D
But think he trims C1 but not styloid? You’d need to check. D
I’m seeing Dr Hughes on Wednesday and I’m with AXA. They’ve approved my initial consultation. This is at Cleveland Clinic
@PatientD Who diagnosed your CCI please? I’ve had scans at Medserena and the report came back saying no CCI but from what I can see the measurements are very borderline (my Grabb Oakes is 8.1mm) I’m looking for a second opinion. Thanks in advance.
Thanks, what kind of consultant is he? Is he an ENT?
Also how long did it take to get appointment after referral.
Me too!!!
Measurements are borderline. Also did it at Medserena in London
He’s an ENT. I live in Essex and I specifically asked my doctor if I could be referred to Dr Hughes on the NHS. She said she would ask but because it’s a totally different health trust she wasn’t sure if it would go through. About 2 weeks later I received a letter saying that the NHS trust that Dr Hughes works for was considering my referral. I messaged AXA at this point because I thought I may as well ask since I have the insurance. They got back to me a couple of days later saying yes I could go ahead at any clinic he practices at. I chose Cleveland after asking on here for advice and also because it’s the easiest one for me to get to. I booked the appointment about 3-4 weeks ago and I have it this Wednesday. There was better availability at some other clinics but I couldn’t really get to those.
My CCI was diagnosed by Prof Smith at Medserena London in 2018 but he has retired to Scotland now.
Mr Timothy at Nuffield Leeds is very knowledgable on CCI (he did my spinal fusion), but he is private only now, not NHS. He is a neurosurgeon. D
