I wanted to ask if there are other patients active in this community who have had C1 process resection + styloidectomy with Dr Axon in Cambridge, UK? I am considering my options and surgeons and want to hear about anyone who might have had a similar procedure with Dr Axon.
I have been reviewed by different specialists in the UK and abroad and most, if not all, agree I have IJV compression and that decompressing makes sense in my case. It’s mostly now a matter of deciding who to go to for surgery.
Mr Axon is the most experienced Uk surgeon doing styloidectomy & C1 that we know of (actually the only one doing both!); if you’ve seen any others here who are knowledgeable about ES feel free to share their names! Mr Axon did both my styloidectomies and I felt very confident with him, they both went smoothly- I had IJV compression but didn’t need a C1 shave, my vascular symptoms improved massively after the first surgery, as did the ES pain.
@Gem_ma has had this surgery done, and @Warrick but not active on here at the moment…Gemma’s surgery went well.
