Do you see compression?
There looks to me like there’s slight compression, but more from the C1 process, the IJV looks flatter, so presuming there’s compression right where it exits the skull base too, which is unusual…Not a medical opinion though, so bear that in mind!
No… I value and appreciate your insight! I see what you are saying about the skull base. Any idea what would cause that?
Its hard to see with just that image, you might want to post more, including one with the styloid in view as well. Your C1 does seem to be close to the IJV from this angle.
It could be that the opening (the jugular foramen) is just too narrow, just a guess? Otherwise there could be compression inside the skull, but I don’t really know much about that, just that others have mentioned a stenosis in blood vessels in the brain…
Thank you both so much!! This confirms my suspicions…each CTV report says hypoplasty of the left transverse sinus and sigmoid sinus. Fortunately yesterday we were able to get an appointment with Dr Hepworth. Hopefully he can help us or point us in the right direction!! This has been a long journey. So thankfull to you and this group that has given advice and support along the way. Couldn’t be more grateful!!!
So pleased that you’ve got an appointment with Dr Hepworth, from what members have said it does seem as if he looks at the whole picture rather than just concentrating on one area, so hopefully he’ll find out what’s going on!
@pk5 - I’m excited that you have an appt w/ Dr. Hepworth. He definitely sees things in imaging that other doctors miss. He’s also great at explaining in layman’s terms what he sees & why it could be causing your symptoms. When is your appt.?
