What are the effects of a dental implant on patients with Eagle Syndrome? Because of the lengthy recovery time of an implant, I am concerned that this option is not for me. Have any of you gotten implants and experienced an increase in your Eagle Syndrome symptoms?
I'm sorry to just add another question to yours, but I've been wondering something similar. I had 2 styloidectomies (1 per side) and I'm doing a ton better but still have occasional bouts of smaller pain. I'm worried that having a wisdom tooth pulled could start the styloids to start growing again or to swell up and cause symptoms.
I hope some people with experience will post.
Have you recently had an implant? You could ask the doctor who did the implant, but I suspect they won't know. If I had an implant already, I would probably tough it out if I could for the time it takes for the implant recovery, just so I would be confident that one healing took place before starting another procedure. Hoping someone else knows.
Yes Eagleheart, you have a good question. The pain and fear of Eagles returning unnerves me and makes me wonder what will happen next.

That's okay! I'm sorry I can't answer your question. I'm going to have my fractured tooth pulled next week and I have the same trepidation as you about ES symptoms becoming really bad. I've noticed any time I have any dental problem the associated pain really increases.

Good luck next week, Deborah Harris. I really hope that the extraction doesn't affect your eagle syndrome.
Thanks! I had it done 10 days ago and for about a week the ES symptoms were bad; but no problems now. Did you have your wisdom tooth pulled?

That's great news that the ES symptoms went away after a week!
I haven't had the wisdom teeth pulled yet, but I feel less afraid of the prospect now, thanks to you.
