Dynamic venogram manometry with flow with Balloon Occlusion

I was wondering if anyone here has had a Dynamic venogram manometry with flow with Balloon Occlusion study done Without any sedation? My one friend is having this done and she is flying out to New York to have it done. She is wondering if anyone has done it without sedation, and if so, how was it? Painful?

@Ihurt - We have members who’ve had “conscious sedation” i.e. were awake enough to be cooperative w/ the doctor doing the venogram during the procedure. This post by @jalexy12
was made earlier today:

I recall someone in the past mentioning having a venogram w/o any sedation & saying she felt a lot of pressure during the procedure, but it wasn’t unbearable. I don’t know that she had a balloon occlusion test though.

Is your friend seeing Dr. Patsalides for her testing?

@Ihurt I had a venogram and angiogram with manometry and balloon occlusion without any type of sedation. It was uncomfortable at times mainly because it’s weird to feel someone snaking a catheter inside your skull. On the arterial side I was getting short bursts of pain when the dye was released. Intense but short lived. Nothing like that happened on the venous side.
