For ear pain/tinnitus/hyperacusis, what are the other causes we should rule out before we consider the surgery to remove styloid process/ligament?

Hi, TMJ Mom. I would suggest checking for TMJ/TMD, damage to the inner ear. Have you been diagnosed with TMJ/TMD? Have you had any treatment for it? I'm in the same boat although the hyperacusis is such better these days
