In that case, the woman experienced several days of symptom relief after styloidectomy and angioplasty before a full relapse. She was then stented and made a full recovery. Dr. Nagarsheth who performed the operation said that depending on the degree and duration of IJV compression, the vein can become diseased and fibrotic requiring some assistance to remain open even after the external compression is removed.
