Ich bin neu hier, symptome seit 2021, brauche Einschätzung - I'm new here; I've had symptoms since 2021 and need an assessment

Many thanks again to both moderators for their assessment. I have an appointment with Dr. Martini at the end of August. I just can’t stand the pain much longer, always between my nose and tooth, and my nose is red and inflamed. And yes, Jesaja, the tonsil is irritated and maybe there’s pus, the styloid is pressing through the tissue. Swallowing and tasting are limited. The tonsil also needs to come out, I still have to ask what should be done first. The pain doctor says it’s better not to pull any teeth, but the pain is enormous, nothing helps, only sometimes cooling. How long were your styloids during the extraction, actually? Jesaja and Jules? Were you able to feel them in the throat too? Thanks and best regards, Sophie

Definitely not a good idea to have any teeth removed; if it is the trigeminal nerve causing the pain, as it was with me, removing teeth won’t alter the pain, the nerve will still fire & you’ll have been through that for nothing… plus it seems to be that dental work often makes symptoms worse, they often ramp up after a procedure.

My styloids were 4cms both sides, I could feel them at the back of my throat & if I pressed them it made symptoms worse.

I agree with @Jules that getting teeth pulled will most likely irritate the trigeminal nerve more than it already is & that will make symptoms worse. I’m sorry for the pain in your teeth. It’s likely to go away once your styloid(s) are shortened.

Can you get an Rx for a nerve pain medication while you wait to see De. Martini? Have you tried icing your neck & maybe your face to see if that helps reduce your pain?

I don’t know how long my styloids were. Right was shorter & thicker than left & was growing more straight down. Left was angled inward.
