Leg pain

Anyone know what could be going on with my legs? They are so painful and look bruised with bulging veins but only at night for some reason. I have a stent in my left iliac vein from May Thurner syndrome. I also have thoracic outlet syndrome and now I’m diagnosed with eagles syndrome. My styloid on the right side with all my symptoms is not elongated but calcified and only 3mm from my carotid artery. My doctors are saying it’s not vascular and I’m in so much pain. I’m trying to get in with Dr. Hackman. Any suggestions on what type of doctor to see?

Who stented your iliac vein? Is it possible to consult with that doctor?

I’m sorry that you’re i so much pain with your ES and your leg, I do agree with @jyoti that maybe you should try and see the doctor who stented your iliac vein.
It’s strange that you’re getting the bulging veins only at night, if you’ve not tried changing your sleeping position then that might be worth doing, do you prop your legs up? Are you able to wear support stockings; these are tips for varicose veins generally, so I guess you probably know these anyway, but best to speak to a doctor.
Unfortunately we are seeing quite a few members with different vascular compressions, not just one! Are you seeing anyone for the TOS, is surgery possible? Dr Hackman has done lots of successful surgeries, so hopefully he’ll help you too…
If you have copies of your imaging for ES, you could upload them here & we could have a look? Some members have been told that they don’t have vascular ES when it’s possible they do…
Sending you a hug :hugs:

I just recently saw the doctor that did my stent and he’s not familiar with eagle’s syndrome and couldn’t help me. My leg ultrasound and pelvic MRA were normal. How do I go about uploading my CTA?

I see someone next month for my TOS but he doesn’t treat Eagles so I’m having to see several different vascular doctors. My current one chewed me out at my last visit and told me I was doctor shopping because I saw the doctor that did my stent via telehealth.

Let me know if that worked to get my scan files to you? I am not tech savvy.

@Michelled - I had to remove your Google Drive link from this discussion, too. @TML confirmed that he received a working link from me.

As @Jules said, we have quite a few members now who have multiple vascular compressions. It’s unfortunate that each type of compression has to be taken care of by a different medical specialist. Have you been checked for Nutcracker Syndrome? It’s compression of the left renal vein. I don’t know if that causes problems w/ veins in the legs though.

Would a pelvic MRA have shown that? My scan was normal for that. If not what test should I ask for?

It could show up in a pelvic MRA though if your MRA was truly only looking at arteries it could be missed because it’s a venous compression. You might need to get an MRV, too, but you should ask the doctor who ordered your MRA if the veins are also visible in the MRA.
