I have exhausted all options to ask friends and family members to accompany me to Turkey. Now, I’m left with getting there on my own and getting the surgery.
Dr. Aghayev’s assistant, Bassam, says it’s no problem and that they will take care of me. But I’m not feeling comfortable with it.
Hi. I recently had Eagles surgery with Dr. Hackman in NC. But 6 weeks before that I traveled to Turkey for plastic surgery. I went with an acquaintance but she almost backed out 3 days before the trip. And like you, I thought how safe is this to do alone? I was worried. I had been to Turkey before only for a day on a cruise stop so I had an idea of what it was like. So, I was preparing to go alone but she finally was able to go. If I had gone alone, it would have been fine. The airport in Istabbul is the most superior, lavish airport you will ever see. The driver will meet you at the airport and the doctor’s staff will bring you wherever you need to go. It’s a huge city. Ten times bigger than NY city. Its modern, bustling and great doctors. My hospital was immaculate and state of the art. You can probably fly home the day after surgery. I know you are worried but it is a very efficient system. Your family members might not have an idea about Turkey and might think it’s dangerous. Its not. They are missing out on a fun trip. We had time to go to the Grand Bazzar and went to the mall almost every day. The nicest most luxurious mall I have ever been to.
The anesthesia over there is quite heavy, so that was my only issue with their medical system. If you need the surgery and cant get it in the states for some reason, I would just do it. I feel so much better after my surgery.
@Erin1 - Thank you so much for your update & for the encouraging information to help @neal_neal. It sounds like your surgery ended up also being a grand adventure! I’m glad it’s helped you feel so much better already & that your friend was able to go with you in the end.
I hope you continue to feel better & better as time passes.
