I can’t find any mentions of Dr Richmond on our site at all…It’s important if you do opt for surgery to see someone with experience, if you’ve not had a chance to read it yet there’s info about surgery & also some questions to ask a doctor in this section:

It is important to rest after surgery, or you could affect the healing, and it sounds like that might be pretty difficult for you? Do you have family who could help out? It is the only ‘cure’ for ES, but there are some medications which can help, and some members have had steroid injections into the styloid area which have helped them put surgery off for a while (they don’t always work), but that might be worth a try if it would be very difficult for you to have surgery now.
