Obvs not doctors here, but it looks okay, just a bit scabby, like your parents said it’s not red or swollen. Glad that you’re able to do a bit more
Looks scabby to me as well. Im glad your quality of life is improved so much Caleb!!!
I’ll third the opinions of Jules & Snapple. It just looks like the natural product of healing, Calebp. If it was infected, it would (as Jules noted) be red, swollen & pretty goopy & probably more painful. I think both incisions look pretty amazing! Glad you’re healing well & are able to be up & about more now.
Your experience sounds very similar to mine. I saw Dr. Hauser around September 2021 and he said I should have my styloid removed before doing prolotherapy. I had a left styloidectomy in November of 2021 and have noticed some improvement. I had some follow up prolotherapy but afterwards my right side started bothering me way more. I also have IJV compression so I have lightheadedness, swallowing issues, brain fog, and pain. How are you doing now? And what’s your plan?
Hi nolan!
Welcome to our forum! I’m glad you’ve had some improvement of your symptoms since you had surgery. I hope your recovery continues. It can take 6-12 months for nerves to recover & vascular tissues can also take several months.
In cases of bilateral ES it’s not uncommon for symptoms from the second side to flare up after the first side has been removed. I also had a significant problem with that. I had my styloidectomies in 2014/15. Having my styloids removed made a huge difference in how I feel but each surgery took some months for recovery.
Do you mind telling us who did your ES surgery? We maintain a list of doctors & are always looking for new dames to add.
Hi @Calebp , I’m kinda new here , reading all your posts. You went through a great deal and so glad you found a doctor you are comfortable with! Very interested in knowing how you’re doing.
I’m genuinely concerned about @Calebp’s and @MrNikolay’s wellbeing. These two members initially were quite happy with the op results and kept posting regularly, and then so suddenly, unexpectedly and completely disappeared as if something very serious had happened… If anyone gets a message from them, please let us know.
With “happy results”, I noticed people disappear gradually, not that completely suddenly…
@vdm,
I completely agree w/ you. I have been concerned as well. I have sent a couple of PMs to @Calebp w/o response. Very concerning. I’m sorry I didn’t observe @MrNikolay’s abrupt disappearance. Thank you for being another set of concerned eyes on our members.
It was very rocky for the first 6 to 7 weeks but I am doing tremendously better in the past month. Sorry I’ve been gone just been busy and I am going to start back working soon in the ICU. @vdm I am sorry to concern y’all I plan on coming back and helping people as soon as I get a little more settled.
Glad to hear you are doing well and got back to your “office”, @Calebp !!!
lol thank you, How are you?
/me still navigating through the healthcare system, unfortunately… hey, no pressure, but if you come to the forum once a month just to say a positive word or two, that’s all we need to lift our spirits!
Being busy and going back to work are great positive signs! Thanks for the quick response, @Calebp!! Carry on!
@Calebp you are doing alright?
