Surgery this Friday

Just got a phone call from my surgeon’s office, they’ve started doing elective surgeries again and have a spot this Friday (like 4 days from now) so I took it! Now I can only sweat and stress for 4 nights about it before the big day. I’m a mix of excited that this journey is hopefully coming to an end and also terrified because it’s surgery and it is a big step. But after 2.5 years of pain and all the medication I’ve taken, the leaves from work, the impact on my family, etc. it is finally time!

HOORAY! I’ll also be praying for you, buddysmom! Is someone from our Doctors’ List doing your surgery? I’m so glad you’re getting this done. I look forward to hearing your report tomorrow.

So glad to hear you have a surgery date. We are waiting on bated breath to get our date. All the best to you, so glad you will hopefully get some resolution to your suffering. Take care and please keep us updated.:pray:t2:

Diasy & Weezie,

I hope you’re both able to get surgery dates ASAP. It’s time for you both to be able to put ES behind you. I’m glad you all have found a competent & experienced ENT doctor in Canada to do your surgeries. That is FANTASTIC!

:clap:t4:

Thankyou @Isaiah_40_31, fingers crossed. It’s been a long, long journey, although I’ve been told surgery for me is 50/50 I will take that chance in a heartbeat. Honestly, if I hadn’t found this forum, and connected with others in my area @Diasy, @BFresh I may have given up a long time ago. So much gratitude for you all!

My doctor is David Armstrong in Chattanooga, TN. He says he only does this procedure about once per year but I chose to stay local rather than travel. Thank you for your prayers!

Hope all goes well, God bless & will pray for a speedy recovery!

How exciting! Best wishes, hope that it goes well! God Bless

@Weezie65 , he told me the exact same percentage, 50/50. I think it’s his standard speech!

When I’m making big decisions in my life like this, I always ask the same question… and I posed it to Dr. O’Connell at our consult. I find it really makes people pause and consider their response, it gets them off their standard “script”. I asked him: “If you were in my position having this same conversation with yourself, what would you do?”

Happy to report his answer - “I would definitely do it.” Plus @Diasy already had one side done and is happy… that combo is good enough for me!

He told me the same… I agree… at worst it won’t help, at best you’re better! I would say that my right was very successful, looking forward to the left!
