Summary:

This interests me too as a few years ago I was diagnosed with periapical cemento-osseous dysplasia and I wonder if they’re related. It’s not commonly seen in caucasian population therefore it was odd that I had it. Shadowing was seen on an x-ray in 2013 but not diagnosed until 2016.

Periapical cemento-osseous dysplasia (PCOD) is a rare benign lesion, often asymptomatic, in which fibrous tissue replaces the normal bone tissue, with metaplasic bone and neo-formed cement.
