Hi all, I’m scheduled for surgery with Dr. Liu 11/16 so it’s coming up! Anyone else out there with surgery soon or advice or anything would be appreciated!
Not long away at all! There’s info in the Newbies Section about surgery:
ES Information- Treatment: Surgery - Welcome / Newbies Guide to Eagle Syndrome - Living with Eagle
There’s a link to a suggested ‘surgery shopping list’ in there for things to get ready, and also links to some posts about what to expect with recovery, & also a recovery timeline on eaglesyndrome.net
The important things to remember is that recovery does vary alot, & not many people experience improved symptoms immediately. Healing can take quite a while, and most people experience setbacks at some point. Think several months for vascular symptoms to improve and up to a year for nerve pain to go… Get lots of rest and try not to overdo things, ice regularly with an ice pack wrapped in a towel, sleep propped up if you can, keep up with pain meds so you don’t go too long and then have a job to get on top of pain again.
Best wishes, will pray all goes well, you’re in good hands! ![]()
You have a great surgeon and very king nurses heading your way. The food is also pretty good.
Symptom recovery takes time, its not overnight, its very roller coaster like. I am 2 months post op, still adjusting.
Sending you healing prayers for your recovery!
@kiwi - I put your surgery date on my calendar & will be praying for you then especially. ![]()
@kiwi Just around the corner now! Wishing you the best.
