UPDATE: possible vascular symptoms

Thanks @Jules and @Rosie for your replies, I really appreciate your experience and info about the costs, I’ve just been to my GP again to discuss my heart rate jumps and am being referred to cardiology for a monitor and to rule out anything else it could be so I’m hoping that that will result in more clarity that it’s Eagle’s and not something else and hopefully I can use that info to progress things more quickly with Axon. I’m thankfully not in pain at the moment and think provided I’m not at significant risk I’ll wait but if things flare up I’ll go down the private route.

Hi @Rosie Rosie, thanks again for your experience with the private route with Mr Axon, did you have to pay for any scans too? I’m wondering if, if I go down the private consultation route, I will have to pay for scans. I had my CT back in 2018 to identify the styloids under the NHS, but I’m thinking I will need a CT Angiogram (CTA) of the Neck with Dynamic Maneuvers now and worry costs will climb as a result. I’m glad you have gotten some relief from your pain and fingers crossed you’ll get your surgery soon. :cherry_blossom:

Hi @SKC100 my CTA with contrast was fortunately done under NHS Neurology when they were trying to get to the bottom of my weird symptoms. I had this transferred to Mr Axon and he was happy with this and didn’t require any further scans. I did enquire about having the scan done privately with The Spire and I think it was around £1300 - £1400, but the NHS came back with the appointment very quickly, so I didn’t need the private one. I hope you manage to get your NHS appointment soon. I struggled with not having any answers for the pain and originally being told my scan was “normal” and feeling that everyone thought it was all in my head, it nearly tipped me over the edge to be honest. That was until I found this fantastic forum and got the support I needed. Its a very frustrating process, but just keep going and keep in touch here.

Regards Rosie

@Rosie, I’m so glad you’re in a sort of neutral zone right now. Everything’s not perfect but nothing is intolerable. So good to know the osteopathic therapy was helpful. More people have posted that sort of experience w/ osteopaths recently. I hope your current routine & meds regimen continue to work well until your surgery day. I hope it comes before Sept. but have seen the reality of NHS scheduling timelines over the years via this forum. :hugs:
