I had my 1st appointment with skull base surgeon Mr Patrick Axon at Addenbrooke’s on Friday. He has referred me for surgery on my left styloid.
Does anyone know how long I may have to wait for the surgery?
I had a few weeks wait for the CT he needed, then another couple of months wait to see him again for the results, then a few months wait for the first surgery. The second surgery I think I had to wait about 6 months in the end as it was cancelled once. But that was back in 2016, so might be even longer now?! It’s very frustrating, but I guess we’re lucky it’s ‘free’…
He does operate privately as well, at the Spire Lea hospital in Cambridge, a couple of members have paid for that. I didn’t have the money!
