What to expect from surgery - please respond

Yes to the way ES external surgery is performed. Different doctors cut in different places on the neck. Some do a “facelift” incision that starts behind the ear & travels down to the neck others cut lower on the neck. Mine was lower but Jules had the facelift incision. Neither of us have scars that are very visible. As awful as the incision looks in that picture, once it’s healed, it becomes pretty invisible. I don’t think doctors desire to leave their patients with big ugly scars as that wouldn’t speak well of the quality of the work they do.

‘ Jules the brave’
Well both of you are but the face lift scar picture makes me want to pack a tent and run to the mountains
I never knew that procedure existed
It’s so nasty looking
Did you both have a choice?

I wasn’t offered a choice of where the incision would be but did choose a doctor who did external surgery for the many reasons we’ve stated on the forum.

And rightly so

Mine was more behind the ear, & only a little bit below it; surgeons vary with their techniques, I trusted mine to do the best job & didn’t care about an incision. I was actually almost disappointed; I wanted to show off my scar & educate people about ES :joy:
