5 months after Eagle syndrome surgery

Hi everyone! I wanted to share an update on my recovery, as it has now been exactly five months since my surgery. I had my surgery in May in Istanbul with Dr. Kamran Aghayev for Eagle syndrome and internal jugular vein (IJV) compression. Before surgery, I struggled with headaches, pressure in my head, neck pain and tightness, dizziness, pressure in my ears, and pulsatile tinnitus ( little pulsing sound in my ears or head).

My recovery has been gradual, and the improvement didn’t happen overnight. However, over the past five months, I’ve noticed a significant difference in how I feel. Most of my symptoms have disappeared or improved considerably, and I would estimate that I’ve experienced around 90 % compared to how I felt before surgery. The pulsating noise in my ears has become much quieter, and sometimes I still notice a little residual noise, but it is nothing like it was before. I’m hopeful that this will continue to improve over the coming months and perhaps disappear completely.

Overall, I’m very happy with my results and so grateful for the progress I’ve made.

Could I ask how long it took for the headaches to ease up?

For me, the headaches gradually started improving over the first 2 weeks .
