Hi Everyone
Im waiting for surgery its on the 28th but in this past couple of days iv gotten alot worse and the clicking and clacking have turned to thuds every time i swollow, im getting alot of calcification coming out from my mouth ehivh im spitting out every 30 seconds and im finding it hard to swollowing and can feel with in my body the styloild going up and down my neck everytime i swollow, i cant really feel pain because im on alot of medication, im really stressing out and worried that theres going to be some irreversible damaged being done, so when i first got diagnosed my styloild was attached to my hyoid bone but with all the swollowing im doing i dont see how it can still be attached, my throat makes a strange noise when i swollowing not all the time and also theres a long line that appears at the side of my throat when i swollow, iv got a phone appointment with my surgeon this Wednesday just for me to ask him some questions hopefully so he can reasure me but have any of you experience anything similar?
Thanks
I’m so sorry that things are worsening for you, it does all sound weird and horrible… some members have had tonsil stones which are little hard bits they have to spit out, I wonder if it’s something like that you’re getting? The only way that pieces from the styloid or ligament could get into your mouth or throat for you to spit out would be if it had pierced through into your mouth which is very, very rare?
I didn’t have symptoms anything like yours do, but was starting to feel really rough from vascular symptoms before my surgery- mine was NHS & I had a long wait, so I can sympathise with how you’re feeling while you wait…2 weeks isn’t a long time in the scheme of things, it will have taken a good long while for the styloids to grow and the ligaments to calcify, so try to reassure yourself of that, not long to wait now. Sending you a hug and I hope Mr Hughes can reassure you again
