Recovery after surgery with Dr. Kamran Aghayev in Istanbul is going very well.
My only complaint is that I feel my left surgical site really “tugging” down and pinching me if I don’t tuck my chin in with eating of solid foods.
I figure this is related to my neck muscle weakness on the same side, and that the deep sutures are simply just keeping things tight. Holding a hand at the back of my neck while I eat and swallow takes it away. Has anyone experienced the same?
I’m glad that your recovery is going well! Your theory as to what’s causing the pinching sounds plausible, I didn’t have this so I don’t know…I guess with any surgery there’s discomfort as you heal, so hopefully this will ease with time
@Rehri - A number of members have noted tightness in the area of the incision during healing & some have mentioned tight neck muscles. When you’ve healed for about a month, you can begin doing gentle finger tip massage along your incision. Use a lubricant such as Bio Oil, coconut oil, or Vitamin E oil on your fingers to keep them from pulling on your skin. Several members have said they went to a myofascial massage therapist to help ease the incision & muscle tightness & that was very helpful, too.
