Doctors around CT

Anyone have any experience with Dr. Mohamed Khaled? I’ve seen in the pinned docs post he’s the only one really in CT, I’ve also heard of Dr. Constantino but I don’t think he takes my insurance. I still haven’t gotten an official diagnosis but I think a lot of my symptoms align with ES. Just really looking for someone so I can get my foot in the door.

Here are two posts where Dr. Khaled is mentioned. @Tommyh is our only member who had surgery with him & had good initial recovery but then backslid a bit. We haven’t heard from him in a while but we hope he’s much better now.

Dr. Costantino specializes in vascular ES (styloidectomies & internal jugular vein decompression) & since you’ve had terrible headache symptoms, it would be worthwhile at least having a consult with him. You’ll have to have diagnostic CT first though. Also, he does telehealth visits so you wouldn’t need to travel to see him initially.

Hi Isaiha. I’m still here, I read the posts you send me but sorry, I don’t add to them. I have given up on Kahled as he doesn’t know what happened. My first surgery went so good with him but the second turned out bad immediately. I woke up from the second one and instantly knew something went wrong. I’m still dizzy and lightheaded and it gets worse when I turn my head while holding a conversation with someone. I am currently waiting for a MRI to see if that shows anything. Meanwhile I still go to work everyday and live the best I can. I may never know what happened. Thanks for reaching out.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear your second surgery didn’t go well, that’s awful for you…I hope that the MRI shows what’s up, thinking of you :folded_hands:

@Tommyh - I’m also sorry your second surgery went wrong. Based on your symptoms, it sounds like you may have some vascular compression in your neck that wasn’t taken care of when Dr. Khaled did your second surgery. We only have a few surgeons on our Doctors List who deal w/ vascular compression related to ES, & those who don’t often don’t recognize the symptoms or the need to do vascular decompression. Here are the names of a couple who are closest to you. It might be good for you to contact one or two for a consult:

Dr. Costantino - •Dr Peter Costantino, 4 Westchester Park Dr, 4th floor, White Plains, (914) 517-8056
http://www.nyhni.org/find-a-physician/Peter-D-Costantino-MD,FACS

He sometimes works together with:
•Dr. Larry Lo, 850 Northern Bl, Floor 1, Great Neck, NY, (516) 773-7737, Sheng-fu Larry Lo, MD | Northwell Health

Dr. Cognetti started doing vascular decompressions w/ ES a year or so ago. He works w/ a neurosurgeon, Dr. Heller:
•Dr David Cognetti, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia 215- 955- 6760 (Has done many successful surgeries on members). Only removes ligaments if calcified. David M Cognetti MD | Jefferson Health

I had an MRV to look for internal jugular vein compression, & the radiology report said I had none when I had it pretty severely on the left side so you have to be careful about believing the radiology reports are accurate. I hope your MRI clearly shows something so you can get resolution for your dizziness. I’m glad you can still work, but your symptoms sound miserable. :hugs:
