I have been researching MVD and Gamma Knife Surgery (Treatments). Does anyone have any experience with Gamma Knife that they would like to share. I have not been able to find very many comments about it. I had the styploidectomy, and my symptoms are back. It did help about 30% but now my symptoms are beginning to get worse, again the feeling like something is in my throat, pain in my ear, difficulty lying down, and swallowing. Also everything that goes along with it such as your friends and family thinking you are crazy or having panic attacks when you feel like you cannot swallow. Thank you. NLM
Nim, did the surgery remove the whole styloid? Do you know if there is any calcified styloid left?
Yes the surgery removed the whole styloid, and according to my ENT he removed all of the styloid, and most all of the styloid ligament that was calcified. I initially did well but six months ago started having moderate to severe symptoms again. The "sticking of something in my throat is not as bad, but there is definitely something wrong!
