Been told by primary care since having GI issues to rule everything out before any surgery to get an esophageal manometry and a ph impedance test. Unsure if I can tolerate it since even endoscopies have caused irritation that doesnt subside(have calcified ligaments ) Anyone has done this and find it necessary/ or provided helpful info? I would like to know how the motility of my esophagus works and I believe I have acid reflux( or something else) but unsure if able to tolerate especially the manometry. Please share if you’ve been in the same boat and what you found. thank you very much
Yes. My esophageal manometry test was very helpful. I also had an anal one too. It showed hypersensitivity on both and that my LES was not opening properly and very tight. I’m hoping it’s all related to my compressed vagus nerve. My old Gastro was head of the motility clinic at Hartford hospital. He was wonderful!
