Hi eveyone,
Ever since I have the right stylohyoid ligament removed, I have been getting a grinding sensation on the right side where the hyoid and thyroid cartilage meet when I swallow. It is worse when looking down and swallowing. My TMJ has also started clicking on the opposite side. From reading the literature, it seems that torsion or imbalance in the hyoid cartilage can cause all sorts of symptoms.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this after unilateral surgery on the stylohyoid chain (either removal of the ligament or removal of the process). If so did it go after having a second surgery on the opposite side (if you had it).
Thanks,
Mark
